hey i thought id seen somewhere on here guys talkin about removing the quad shock. What would be the benefit? also what do you put in its place, upper and lower control arms or what?

remove quad shocks to fit bigger tires.

quad shocks were fords answers to a weak 4 link set-up
and cheap rubber bushings

upgrade your control arms and you can take em off.

they push against the axle as it trys to rotate under load
is what they are for.

If you install lakewood traction bars in place of your lower control arms, you need to remove them. As the 2 horizontal shocks will bind, or prevent the traction bars from doing their job.
