Quetion on '84 'Stang
I was geting the HVAC box out of my racer today and found an aluminum box with a lot of wires plugged into it on the passenger side in back of the kick panel.
Whats it for?
It says something like 'do not open, warranty part' on it.......

I really don't know, the box seems to be empty.
Remember this was a carbed car from the factory.
Could this have been where the 'check engine' light could have come from?
I looked at the wiring diagram I've got and it shows it but it don't tell me what it does.
Maybe may real question is, will the car run without it????

its the computer
i really wouldnt mess with it
u can run diagnostics (check for codes) by plugging in a volt meter or a Ford Diagnostic tool for ur model computer.
not sure what the pre EFI cars use but 87-93 use the A9L (ODB-1) computer i think.
chances are if there was something wrong with the computer, ur car would run poorly or not even run for that matter.
