Stevens91gt, absolutley don't use a household cleaner in the engine bay. They may be way too strong for the rubber/plastic parts. The auto parts store will sell great products that will not strip the finish in the engine bay. After the shampoo stage you can spray some engine clear on, really shines up the motor.

I used "greased lightining" on the under belly but I agree.............most inside cleaners have clorox or some bleach in them and that just really screws up a black plastic hose or wires.....

well i used black magic tire shine on the hoses because it said it was a "detailers tip"

it came out good but the overspray was IMPOSSIBLE to get off

after about a month of driving and not cleaning it the damn spots.. stains i should say it finaly came off

i used dish soap and water with an sos pad and i really scrubbed down the intake. after it was clean i waxed it with mag aluminum polish. came out pretty good for being 13 years old and never been sand blasted/polished in its life

pick up some mothers aluminum and mag polish works good on the pony rims and intake

ya i dont recommend the sos pad for a "new" intake i was basicaly using what i could to get all the years of dirt and crap built up on mine and since it was coated it didnt scratch it up.

Greased Lighting in the small pump spray bottles. The small one as the valve thing can be controlled and the whole bottle is small enough to use in the engine bay. Just used some tonite on my car.
I wish it ere strong enuff to get rid of some silicone sealant the old owner splashed around.
