Im also racing a 91 RS within the next few days. Its 100% bone stock 5 spd against my bone stock AOD w/ a catback. It should be close because I driven in his car and it doesnt feel that much slower than mine.... at all.

i am thinking you will win if you guys are both stock except your exhaust. but i think everyone here is making those 305s sound just a tad bit slower than they really are. i wanted to race my bros 91 firebird but i think he knew i would win cause he kept making excuses, but he wasnt THAT slow. let us know how it goes.
BTW his firebird is in the ground after having it for only about 8 mos and driving it only on the weekends...ran good when he got it...[&o] but blew a head gasket.

Yea, they really arent but those motors do BLOW! Noone makes any parts for those cars. My friend was telling my that almost everything you buy for them is from "that guy" on ebay.. LMAO

ive owned a 305 Lg4 sbc and it is indeed a boat anchor.

in a light body camaro, i can see it being "quick" but no where near 5.0 territory

btw stock form they are lucky to see high 15's

my buddy im in school with is a circle track and drag racer. him and his dad build up a bunch of retarded **** to race. the reason i call 305s boat anchors is because when i went to the lake with him, i saw his dads boat (twin blown 454s) and it in fact, had an anchor that was a 305 block.


the only way you can make those cars fast is by putting a 383 stroker in it, or putting an ls1 in it. 305 have almost no potential lol.

Good kill, i hate those camaros. A guy I know has a '90 Camaro RS 305 auto with an exhaust and he's runnin low 15s at the track. He struggles to beat Probe GTs lol.

Well they are not THAT slow considering thats what a auto 5.0 runs bone stock... they just dont have the aftermarket parts like 5.0's do. Alot of sh*t for their cars they get from people on ebay. They dont make d*ck for the 305!

^^ That is true though. I was talking to my friend and he said basically there is NO point in tring to port the heads and sh*t because its just useless..... the whole motor is JUNK.
