Default Cam and head questions...

Hi all...I've decided to stick with my 302 and try to get into the high 12s...I have a few questions about head and cam choices.

First for a cam...what would be good low and mid range power cam? I really want that lumpy idle, I love that.

As for heads...what is the best bang for the buck set? How much do AFR 165s go for (are they even good heads for 12s?)? What about the AFRs vs GT40s?

while I'm here...I see that headers in my jegs magazine go for 300 or less...is that for a set or just a single header? What set would be good for flow and to enhance the lumpy/rumbly cam?

Thanks for all responses!

why not just use a 100 shot at the track?...cheap,easy to install, no extra wear when not in use, good gas mileage

a good h/c/i could get you into the 12's with no power adder.

A letter cam from Ford racing will be good with the AFR heads. E cam is cool F is cool to rougher idle though. you should think of upgrading your upper and lower intake manifold, throttle body, mas air also your fuel system and injectors if you plan on running those heads and cam. I think for sure you'll be in the high 12's.

Is your car a Auto or a 5 speed and are you running gears?

Never mind about the auto or 5 speed I see you have a short throw shifter.
