400 with or without a power adder? manual or auto? efi or carb? race gas or pump gas? car weight?

make shure you get a stud girdle for the main caps, they tend to flex abit as the 302 block is kind of flimsy. to bad you wernt doing a 393, i know how to do 430 at the tires on pump gas with a carb.

w/o power adder maybe just maybe a small shot of gas, its an a built auto, efi pump gas, stock GT w/o smog for weight and i figured that the girdle thing would be thing i needed

nasty 481hp 347 thats at the crank so it works out to be 395hp at the wheels on pump gas. keep in mind to make that much power with such little cubes its becomes a weekend car.

I figure that's close to what I'm pushing.

SCAT 347
AFR 185 Heads
XE274Hr CompCam .555/.565
Fully ported GT40 Lower
Comp Cams Polymer Box Upper
70mm TB
76mm C&L MAF and TruFlo Tube

You need to clearance the block in order for the neighboring rods to clear the bottoms of the cylinders. You can buy a jig that will tell you exactly where it needs to done or guess and check.

dss...they sell strong and affordable long block, short blocks you name it

cheap, fast, good. <-----pick only two (old engine builders addage)

with a set of afr 185 heads gt40 intake(or just about any aftermarket intake) a hot cam ~ 225/230 .525 .525 long tube headers and the like and you should probalby eclipse the magical 400hp mark

mas air meter stufff you can get from ford racing for about 800$

if it was me I would get a R302 block for your build and use all eagle forged internals. Make sure to balance and blueprint the engine for a smooth reving engine.

AFR 185's
edelbrock victor jr intake
port match heads to intake
70mm tb
76mm C&L MAF kit
42lb injectors if going with SC 30lb if NA
if you want a shot of NO2 I would do a wet shot
a small 6 psi SC will push you over well over the 400 rwhp mark
for even more hp you could add a methenal kit to cool the air temp after the SC
