Long crank, next day stalling in fourth then no restart.
Okay guys, I'm asking this question for a buddy of mine who just bought a 95 SN95 GT w/ 41k on it.
I'm asking for him becuase these things happened on his way to work and he cannot post till he gets off, so he asked me to post for him and update him.
Yesterday when he got off of his lunch break his car took a long crank to start up, probably 15-20 seconds. Once it started it drove and ran fine. (This was after the car was sitting for five hours, in the 95 degree heat)
Today on his way to work the car started stalling in fourth, then when he got to work and shut it off it wouldn't restart. He said that he can hear the fuel pump priming, I don't know if this means the pump is bad or not though. I told him it was either a spark or fuel problem. Any ideas?
Could it be this TFI module or whatever that is called? What are the symptoms of that failing? Any suggestions for him are appreciated.

Generally, they cut off when they get hot and then restart after they cool off. The f/p can do the same thing though. That's why I suggested the 2 checks. The spark test is the easiest of coarse so try that first.

Okay, he just called me and said he went out to try to start it after letting it cool for about an hour and it started right up.

Okay....what should the fuel pressure be at when the pump primes? 40ish psi?
