so you supercharged a car with a stock blocs and stock heads? and neither of them have been out of the car? thats awesome i was aleways afraid to charge my car cause i have 101k on the clock! how many lbs of boost do you push?

Last dyno was 351/368 but I have made some changes since then and will be going for another dyno here pretty soon.

My cousin ran a 12.8 @ 106 on a stock engine except a CAI and headers, he has all suspension mods. Lakewood 90/10's, QA1 tubular K, Lakewood 50/50's out back, MM subframes, racing springs and a 3.73 gear and some mickey thompson E/T's. Not bad if you ask me. Three weeks after that we were cleaning his engine parts out of the middle of his street after him doing a burnout, blew a rod bolt and knocked a fist size hole in the side of the pan...lol...he just started laughing, that was a 193,000 mile car though. He's doing a 351W swap now.

Then i ran a 12.2 @ 112 with just subframes and 4 banger springs at the time, but on the same set of slicks and on the 2nd run i blew 2nd gear out of my tranny. So there goes that part of the question. lol

I've been as quick as 11.65 with a stock shortblock, E7s and an AOD (nitrous). The car later made 428rwhp 567ft/lbs but was never ran at that hp level. I bought a car from a friend that had been 11.50s on a totally stock motor (speed density), T5 and a 225hp shot of nitrous. I have one friend who has been 10.80s with a stock shortblock and stock T5 (nitrous). I have another friend who was been 10.50s on a stock hypereutectic shortblock but with a C4 (supercharged). And I've seen another guy go 10.teens on a stock shortblock (turbo) but I'm not good friends with him so I don't know all the details.

Well to get the real story behind all those motors, my former 11.65 motor is now in another car. It's been making that power for ~3 years now, has over 160k miles and is still going strong.

The 11.50 car I bought got it's first nitrous kit in 1995 (I went to high school with the former owner) with under 100k on it. The motor was pulled at 250k-something because it used oil. I bought it with 262k and sold it a few months later. It ran for a long time and was heavily abused.

The 10.80 nitrous car now has a T70 on it as of last week. He went a 11.60 on 7psi Friday night. He is new to boost and will be splitting his block soon after he tries 15-20psi.

The 10.50 supercharged car ran 11.0s for 3 years on 10psi. It broke a hypereutectic piston on the first 16psi pass it made and coasted to a 10.5x @ 121mph. The motor is no more.

The 10.teen turbo car made less than 10 passes before it split the block.

And now that I think about it, I have another local somewhat friend who has been in the high 10s for about 2 years on a stock shortblock. He finally raised it to a 175hp shot and split the block after less than a dozen passes. It ran a best of 10.45.

Those are impressive times on some stock short blocks. People dont give them the credit they deserve, 302's can take a hell of alot more punishment than people give them credit for.

But everything has its limits...

and thats why we have dart blocks

Stock blocks can take their fair share of mods. Running mid-10s isn't as easy as some people make it sound. You click off some 10.50s in a street car and you're definately doing something right. I have some fairly well experienced friends (which sounds kind of dumb when I just said they are all still playing around with stock shortblocks).
