When I was shopping for headers everyone told me to save my money because the ceramics would eventually discolor too.

I have to disagree with the header wrap IMO, the idea of it seems great, but far outweighed by the bad

do some research and you'll find some articles on actual dyno testing of equal vs. unequal headers, also the rest of the exhasut tremendously effects the headers, if you have a free flow mid pipe and a tuned cat back then you will have the proper backpressure, equal length headers are meant to provide the same distance of pipe from the exhaust manifold to the flange, resulting in equal back pressure into the motor. As far as ceramic coating vs. not , the only functional gains are heat dissipation... ceramic reduce heat by a couple hundred degrees depending on your motor setup, chrome just release heat into the engine bay, and if you correctly install your plugs/wires and use wire looms then you'll have no heat issues with the wires. In my opinion heat wrap is a cheesy poor looking fix, it has its place on the track, for a drag car , but if your into the looks and performance then tape is not the way to go. Also header wrap is known to cause headers to rust out form the inside because no moisture can escape.

Id suggest either the BBK Cermaic shorties or buy some used BBKs and get them JETHOT coated.

with eaqual length you will not gain any power on the bottom end, you might even loose torque. they are designed for power higher in rpms. and unequal are the opposite when it comes to low rpms. i wouldnt use header wrap either. like it was said before they will help the headers rust, and ive seen that they retain so much heat that it will make the headers crack and leak also. i would say that ceramics are the best of all of them that ive seen. i work at an exhaust shop and ive seen a lot of this stuff. just my 2cents.
