Default so this is what we have... im hoping for at least a 12sec et

bought a stock 302 with 80,000 miles with some head work for $150, bought an E303 cam for $40, some 1.7 roller rockers for $100, wiend stealth intake and holly street avenger 570 carb for $100, msd wires, jacobs ignition box, shorty headers, x-pipe, and stock '04 cobra mufflers dumped. all behind a 4 cylender 5-speed tranny and 7.5 rear end with 3.73 gears. oh yeah and a 100 shot nos plate kit with 20lb bottle we just picked up last night. the motor is extremely clean internally and did not smoke a drop. its going into a '90 coupe with some ssp 10 hole wheels and stock radial tires (car was x-police car) were hoping for at least a 12 second ET... what do you think?

you could have gotten a B cam and run those 1.7's. The B cam has more duration and the 1.7's would have put it up with more lift also. So you would have the best of both worlds.

i know, but remember this is a budget build... we dont have more than $700 in the entire car and thats including the car itself wich was free.... all the parts are used but are in excellent condition and was what was available and cheap... oh dont worry... the living **** will be driven out of this car also... we dont care if it blows up. it was a cheap buildup. well let you know what it does, were hoping to have it all together in a few months. body work is almost done, so were getting close to shootin some paint on in the shed, lol

I have to give it to ya though dude. Is that not one of the funnest things to do? Throw some old used engine parts together and see what it does? Its awesome, you dont care if it breaks so you abuse the hell out of it and do things that you wouldnt usually do. Its alot of fun, ive been there and done that. We did it in my friends Mustang, it was our "test mule" for a while. We got a 5.0 roller block from the paper and freshend up the bottom end with a rebuild kit that was like $50, then we wet sanded the cylinders with 1800 grit sandpaper. We got the stock E7's and i ported the hell out of them and got some bolt down 1.7's and a B cam, then i took my shortie headers out of my own car and we borrowed those for the build. After everything we got a 11.89 on a 175hp shot of nitrous and speed shifting the hell out of it. And surprisingly that motor lived for a while until he took it apart and rebuilt it when he decided to do something else with it. But i got my headers back

That was probably the most fun ive ever had building/ working on a car. We only spent i think $800 in the whole damn car. That was tons of fun.

Have at it. Go kill some LS1's in that badboy.
