wedge a screwdriver or paint scraper (carefully!) at the gap where the manifold and head or block meets to get it started. Once you get it in and break the seal the intake will just pop right off. You just want to be careful not to scar the heads/block/or intake up by scratching any of the parts badly when you do it.

Take a pry bar into the thermostat portion of the manifold. I you haven't taken it off already, take the actual thermostat housing (the part that holds the thermostat) off first so you don't break it.

ok, after about 12 hours of work and 100 trips to the store for random stuff, i got the lower and uppper intake in. my question now is this: as long as all the vacuum lines are plugged back into the upper half, ill be fine right? i mean, the new upper is a little different then the old but i did manage to but all the vacuum lines back in. i had to take a couple of the small ones, hook then to a T fitting and then into the upper intake cause it had one less hole then the old. after i get the TP sensor set, it should fire right up....right? i hope
