Alright, ill tell ya what...what you need to sit down and do is;

#1.) Figure out first how much $$$ you got to spend on one of these.

#2.) Figure out how much power you really want out of it, be resonable and very honest with yourself. How much power would make YOU happy, dont build your car to impress other people, build it for yourself, if you build it for other people..your never going to be happy with it.

#3.) Decide what your car is going to be used for, is it a Daily driver you depend on to get you around, or is it a weekend bruiser you can pull out of the garage and take it to the strip and beat some ***. Then after you do this, figure out if #1 and #2 fits into the needs of #3. Then that should let you know where to go from there.

Listen, you CAN ABSOLUTLY run 10psi on a stock motor!! Don't waste your money on a S trim. Go with a Paxton Novi 1000 kit ($1,700), get the Vortech 8' Renegade Crank Pulley ($200) and a Anderson Power Pipe ($250) that will keep you at about $2,300 with everything shipped and you can lay out about 10-11 psi. And later down the road if you want to upgrade some stuff you can get a 2.75' blower pulley and pull like 14psi out of it!

Paxton Novi 1000 $1,700
Vortech 8' Renegade Pulley $200
Anderson Power Pipe $250
C&L 76mm & 42lb Injectors $450
Walboro 255 Pump $110
______

$2,710

And like everyone else said, get a nice tune and you will be more than fine!

If you really want to spend some cash...go with procharger, their intercooled kits are about $3,300-$3,500 but theyre the absoblute best.

The P1SC or the D1SC should fill your needs nicely...they're self contained also. No oil lines.

Dude...that's a great ****ing plan right there...I honestly think you just found out wats going into my car before I did...thanks for the tip and aghhhh THANKYOU!?

Although, a few questions:
#1: how do they hold up?
#2: I'm a big fan of the *whineeeee*, how's it sound, its gotta be loud, not obnoxious though
#3: if I did that exact set-up, could u think up rwhp figures or hp to the flywheel, and a 1/4 time would be fantastic. I have a goal in mind, lets see if this will satisfy me lol.

Thanks again, and anyone, please comment, lemme kno wat I'm getting into along with advice/tips/suggestions!?

Bumpppp (still wondering about the figures of the paxton set-up and my questions above^^^^)

88stang: I have looked at the prochargers, but damnnnn they are SO EXPENSIVE! Is there really that much of a difference between a procharger and a vortech/paxton?

Thanks!

I've seen combos that have been in the 10s on a Novi 1000 and a stock shortblock. But don't plan on it. More than likely, you can get deep into the 12s or high 11s with one. The Procharger is more expensive because it comes with more stuff. But it's a small minority of supercharged cars that run an I/C on the street. And if they need it at 10psi, something is wrong with their tune.

I think a neat test is to ask all the people who own superchargers how they like their warranty service. You'll have a hard time finding Vortech/Paxton people with any experience. But a good portion of the Proleaker guys with their self-contained units should be able to tell you about it. I used to get into with a guy on my local forums about this all the time. He would always bitch when I recommend Vortech/Paxton and left out his Procharger. Then I'd ask him about the power he made and their warranty service. His has been sent back twice for seals and with H/C/I made just under 400rwhp. I honestly think the power problem was all his fault, but I've seen way too many people with leakers. I really like Procharger, but would never buy one of their SC models.

And it's hard to say this without being offensive, but Anthony doesn't have a clue what he's talking about. Don't pay attention to that crap. His problems were far from the norm.
