80's codes are for the smog pump. you didn't mention if you still have it or if it is removed. as for the 67, make sure when you are reading the codes the a/c is in the off position, if it isnt you will get that code every time. the 'hunting' idle may have to do with coking behind the throttle plate; cleaned mine and it went away. also the air bypass valve may be sticking. Ford sells a small plate that fits between the air bypass valve and the throttle body that helps with minimum air. might want to check it out. let me know about the smog pump on your car, i may be able to help with that.

i remember something...when my 89 smelled like it was running rich i checked the TP sensor and it was so worn i could not get it to adjust. it is an inexpensive part and when you set it correctly the signal voltage with the key on engine off should be .8 volts. check it out.

Yup my TPS sensor cost me 50.70 at my work, it really smoothed out some things, worth replacing. Dude if you want a good digital code scanner for next to nothing, talk to Black Snake, he got me a digital one from his work for like 20 bucks.

when i bought my car the smog pump was gone, also the a/c wasnt on and my tps is new jus not exactly adjusted. whats the throtle plate? and what website has the plate for the air bypass?
