I still don't get it.

There is no way to "tune out" irregular airflow through the MAF (such as that due to a turn just before the MAF)
The only solutions in this case are to straighten the airflow, or rotate the MAF so that the MAS is hitting a more representative air sample.

Please report back what these companies say, because I fear it is just a crock.

Either way, it doesn't cost extra. They just want to know if you have a CAI or not....

Yea I know it costs no more, but the one for my car is out of stock for another 3 weeks, and the CAI one is available right now. So if I could have ordered it it would have been much faster. Thats why I was wondering. Just got off the phone with the Summit guy, he said that with a cold air you are gettin much more air, and the air is colder, so it wouldnt run right on the vehicle. Doesnt make any sense to me, but I'll take his word that I wont run right.

But dude, my electronics are damaged, that kit just comes with a new MAF housing and you transfer over the stock electronics to the new housing. All I need is a new actual sensor.

HOLY !@#$
The entire purpose of the MAF is to measure the amount of air flowing into the motor.
Getting more air due to a CAI, would mean that a properly tuned MAF would measure the increase in airflow.
I may have to call these guys myself as this could be a fun conversation to have LOL

The temperature of the air is picked up by the ACT.

If all you need is a stock electronics MAS then I can look up a source for you when I get home, which will tell you what to look for in a junk yard. These things rarely fail, so used is just as good as new.
