This guy i know with a 91' 5.0 came up to me today and asked me about my tranny,
then he asked if i would be interested about swaping my AOD for his T5...
He said he just bought a shop and said it would be straight across we would both work on both swaps...
He said he has a ram clutch, are these any good?

Yeah why would any one want to put an AOD in when they have a T-5???? Maybe something is wrong with his T-5.

first off autos are actually faster at the track when they are heavily built. also even if he isnt gonna mod it, it is alot more relaxing driving with an auto no worries of shifting, although you dont get that fun sporty feel the stick gives ya[&o]. I WOULD however try a test drive b4 swapping to be sure everything is in good working order. good luck and hope it all turns out well for ya!

Ya we are gonna meet up this week and drive both cars and make sure its legit...
He wants to put a big shot of the "happy gas" and i wanna road race more than drag,
it seems good to me...

I used to have a Toyota with a 6" lift and 35" tires... i had a centerforce dual friction clutch which grabbed unbelievably good...
Are the centerforces good in the 5.0's?

It could be a legit proposition, although me being a stick guy, I can't imagine trading my 5 speed for an AOD that will make my car slower. But then, the horse should not expect to understand why the camel does what he does. At any rate, it's a risk. It's up to you whether you want to take the chance. Hope you get what you want.
