No reason to "DECREASE" horsepower or try to. Also, I wouldnt tell them that you checked you mileage because than they will think your a d*ck and do a ****ty job on your car (I know I would). Just write down the mileage, gas, etc. and make sure that it stays the same. I dont think you should have a problem. Any decent shop (mechanic, body, etc.) should know better than to do that kind of stuff.... and if they do they are obviously dirtbags and shouldnt be working on your car anyway. Good Luck!

I'm going to be taking my '92 GT to the body shop because some dumbass in a chevy rear ended me. Is there anything I can do to cut down the power while the car is at the shop? I'm just kinda paranoid about a lot attendant going out and having some fun at my tires' expense.

I'd mark the tire on the insides, and write down mileage and only have a lil fuel in her to move it around if need be, most body shops are respectable and just stop by each day to check the progress at different times and then they'll know your in and out a lot but not sure when you'll be there, so that may deter them from screwing around. i wouldn't be too paranoid.... ok i lied yes i would.

one time i took my car to a shop to get my alignment fixed one time and after they fixed to took my car for a joyride. after he fixed he said he started it up and drove it off the parking lot. i immediately went and asked the other mechanic where he was going with my car they said he was seeing if it would pull either direction. then suddenly all u hear is [sm=gears.gif] this guy had to be taking my car up to at least 5000rpm checking the alignment. i started cussing out everybody in the F***ing place. finally the guy rolls up in my car and hands me my keys and goes here u are u all set up go like nothing happend. i just went off and asked why the hell he had to hotrod the hell out of my car just to test the alignment? he says i don't know what ur talking about. i said BS everybody in the damn building heard u. so needless to say i left pissed and told everybody not to go to that shop again
