interesting.....maybe Nitrogen is less prone to
expansion/contraction with temp changes?

i know Nitrogen is sometimes used instead of normal atmosphere, when
you want to cut down/eliminate corrosion buildup...

Nitrogen doesn't expand or contract with temperature. Whereas air does. Say you put 35 psi of air into your tires and drive around for a while. Being that air expands when heated your psi in your tires might have jumped up to 39-40 psi. Nitrogen stays at a consistent temp at all times due to it's molecular make-up. Therefore, you put 35 psi in when cold and drive around all day and check, you will have 35 psi (as long as there is no leak, of course)

Makes for better wear on the tires. Since they aren't expanding and contracting and keep a consistent road contact surface.

Ding ding ding!! We have a weiner, I mean Winner!

That and nitrogen does not absorb water therefore cuts down on crap that introduced to tires. As a Side benefit, the shop has less corrosion in it's air tanks

if there charging for it it's a waste of money, and say if you get a leak do you have to fill back up with nitrogen or can u mix them? sounds kinda dumb but i failed chemistry...LOL

i like free stuff such as air, radio, and thats about it everything else is $$$$!

I'd like to see the data (numbers and comparisons including vehicle and tire specs) because that article is pretty vague, but nonetheless I had the same old air in my Cooper Truck tires and they lasted 3 years 60,000 miles with the same air in from the day I got them, never filled any tire up once, they never lost pressure and I check it frequently. I think the nitrogen is a load of crap, just like these new emissions laws.
