were can i get a good shortblock for like 1500? can't rebuild my block because it is cracked so that is not an option. i want a 306 .30 over shortblock with forged pistons and a trickflow or e-cam installed with timing chain. am i dreaming? anyone ever heard of central coast mustang they had the cheapest crate motors around but there website doesn't work anymore.

Get a re-man'd long block motor and then throw the cam in yourself. With a core i think the re-man'd motors are like $899.-- or somewhere along there. Buddy did this. Spent $1,300 on the motor after he got the re-man'd motor, paid shipping and picked up some GT-40's cheap. He left the stock cam in there though, i'd buy an E-cam or a Trick flow stage I like you said.

Central Coast is finally out of business...they liked to sell used parts as new parts, as for a re-build, get a H.O. out of a local yard and take it to a good, local engine shop...
