Why do the major part of import owners believe if its turbo'd its fast? I had a WRX STI(only mod he "said" was exhaust aka the "coffee can") pull next to me at a stop light this evening and think he had a chance? (I'm running a 347 with a powerdyne S/C at 8psi, ill get my dynos up tomorrow im praying my scanner is a wal-mart special.......!) I understand these cars are quick stock but is it common for people to act that every mustang they run across is a stock 5.0? I took him off the line from the light then just stopped, I proved my point. Just bothers me that I can't drive in peace anymore(he did his little rev engine song and dance)! Just a little vent sorry guys

 

I understand you completely! I had an early 90's accord with some idiot kid try and race me, he speeds up then looks at me, I shook my head and started laughing. Just do that it usually makes them mad

 

Its annoying, trying to enjoy myself peacefully with my girl riding around after dinner to get this. I know it comes partly with owning the car but wish it wouldn't lol.

1 of my friends bought a 1996 honda civic with a volvo turbo in it..let me tell u this kit is home made n mostly pvc(talk about sh*ty)

he swore he would blow my doors in but he raced my friends automatic stock 1998 integra with only a intake n exhaust n got beat


lets just say he shut up very fast lol

 

If i ever see this kid again I'm going to invite him to the closest track, i need a good laugh when he tries to run beside me in teh 1/4

Mustangs sound like ol' muscle cars. Import just sound like one long sustained fart.

 

I hear ya there. My girl hates racing and fast cars etc etc. Scares her a bit to much so I didn't rip on it hard but i took him off the line at the light which if he had "anything" his AWD should of taken me in a rear wheel drive car off the line. (a fast all wheel drive car launch soooo hard)

 

Man if you took him off the line I dont think he'd even have a chance... It's b/c in the import world, a turbo is like their God, without a turbo almost every import car is a total sled

 

Yea, thats why i was frustrated. I took an AWD off the line in a RWD. Yes I have a good bit of modifcation done to my car from engine to suspension. I jus can't deal with the "if its turbo'd its fast" crap. It would be like me revving my engine up next to a enzo and then think i have a chance...

 

Most ricers are just ricers w/ fart cans... Ask them why their car sounds like a lawn mower, that usually gets them fired up.
