ok guys i just talked to AFR. They said i def have to fly cut to use 185s. So right now my choices are either the 165 or a trick flow package i was lookin into. The package comes with twisted wedge heads, track heat intake, a cam to match, valve covers, roller rockers, roller timing chain, and gaskets for like 2200. it seemed like a deal. So which one guys??
what you should do for now is go to the junkyard and get a set of heads off of a ford explorer. they are gt40 heads. and depending on the junkyard, they are cheap
yea im not sure if i wanna get junkyard heads right now because i have the money for a new pair. i was lookin into twisted wedge. how do those compare to the afrs?
The Trick Flow top end kit comes with 6.700in pushrods, so don't worry about that. Let me know how it turns out if you go with the TF package, I'll be installing one sometime over winter
ok i decided my choices were the afr 165 or the trick flow top end package. I compared the two heads and it turns out the twisted wedge actually flow more than the 165's, and the intake and exhaust valves are the same size. So im almost certain i will be goin with the TF package. I should be ordering in the next couple weeks. I will let you guys know how it runs.
