Default header/pipe horsepower

I was thinking about puttin new headers a new y-pipe and a high flow cat. How much horsepower will that add, also that should make the car much louder, right?

Not very familiar with chevy but in general a larger dia header and free flowing midpipe will both increase hp and improve sound.
your 305 is a 5.0L?

Sorry to say but your exhaust setup is trash and always will be unless you convert it to a true dual exhaust which you have to bring the exhaust into to the car *literally* or something else I forget. It will never be a free flowing exhaust.

If you want the best you can get out of it I would just run a full 3' exhaust. My friend just picked up a SLP catback for $220 bucks on ebay. They sound good and are the most freeflowing your going to get and trust me you need it. Look into them. And YES it will make it louder.

u should get a 350 but anyways ive had 5 camaros 82-92 and the only true dual exhaust i got was the one i custom made but it has to be so tite under the car and you could only use 2.5 well i could anyway cause it was lowered but anways its really pain in the butt to have true duals like 88 said just buy 3" slp
