Default the o2 sensor unplugged q

Hi I was under my car for the first time seance i got it to fix a leak in the exhaust and i sean that the o2 sensor was unplugged and the plug just laying on the pipe melting what will that do to the car?its a speed density its a 86 302 thinks.

I have an 86 also and I've had the o2's unplugged for a while now. The only thing I've noticed is the car runs rich.

Sorry 4 asking stupid questions IM 19 starting to get in to mustangs I wanted one 4 a long time and now I got one now starts the learning propess.so that will cause the car to lose power right?I would plug it in and see what happens but I got in to a fender bender and the car is getting fixed right now.

How's your car going to adjust for fuel and timing without the O2 sensor hooked up? Running without it with, like you said, make it run rich, and get horrible gas mileage.

OK thanks guys I was just wondering if my motor had a o2 cuz the car is a 82 and the motor is a 86 I think. And I didn't know if the exhaust come of something els or what so ill look in to getting that fixed.

yeah it does get bad gas mileage but like i sed this is my first mustang and my 2 car.

you know what ill bet any thing my dad did it he is the one that found the car and went and got it 4 me and i was not there and he knows a lot about cars what els could he of done to make the car slow on me?cuz my ma was giveing him all kinds of $hit about helping me to get a mustng so what should i look for that he could of done to it to make it slower but run good. it smells a bit rich but not to much.

this is a fuel injected engine right and you have the computer with it right?

yes it is EFI car and i do have the computer with it the guy put in the driver side kick the car seams to run fine to me but i never drove in a stock mustang so i dont know what it should fell like you know so.
