Default probably a stupid question

are the pistons in a stock 5.0 HO forged? i know that probably is a dumb question but i don' t have any idea and can't find it anywhere so i thought i would ask. oh ya one other thing whats the safest rpm you can take your car up to on a stock cam or best for performance purposses, i don't ever take mine above 5000 but i want to know how high i can take it to get the best performance out of it just in case a ricer wants to have a go at it.

The pistons are forged in all years except '93. The power band ends at around 5,200 RPM so there's probably no need to rev any higher.

how much boost can the usually handle without ruining things, a supercharger is quite a ways down the road for me if ever but i'm still curious

5000 ssounds safe to me unless it's a REAL beater/deathtrap.
Forged piston's where used in the late '80's but I can't really tell you just which years without getting into some book's, not easy just now.
A high RPM engine need's much more than just a forged piston to survive......
