Default would you buy it? advice!

I posted this in the general topics, but thought it might do better in the 5.0 section-

Its a 5.0/5 speed LX convertible, 84k with the tranny and engine in good shape. The only mods are ported e7 heads(what are these?). It needs a fuelpump relay, and the door put back on. he says the old one works on it, but the new door it comes with wont close. how Hard does this look like it would be to fix? I want something that i can work on/drive, other then the '02. what do yall think?

my first reaction is, go for it for 1000-1100. But then I think about the rear quater panel will need alot of work. I woudnt buy it if you arent able to do the work yourself. Alot of money could get tied up in that repair alone. but thats just my opinion, get some others also

Thats rear qurter is the most expensive single body repair for that car, its a vert has it been on a frame tower to see hif the frame twisted? i'd give him $800 that way if repairs are beyond your ability/cost you can part it out and make your money back, i wouldn't buy it without a body shop man looking at it. JMO good luck

I agree with 7upedition.
You do not want to over pay for this ride.
The carpet stinks and the top leaks water.

I would shop around. You can do better.

All i have to say is keep looking around. There are a lot of them out there, and it just takes time to find the right one. I know i looked at several convertibles, and i'm so happy i ended up with a hatch. Who knows what's wrong with the frame from the hit it took on the quater panel. Another thing, don't be afraid to offer them a price that they might not take, it's always worth a chance. I got mine for 3k and he was asking 3500 for it. lol

I bought mine for 1200 and wished I'd shopped around more. Mine was in a little better shape, but so far I've dropped $6k rebuilding/modding/restoring it and it still needs paint and body work, much less the other mods I had planned (chassis, suspension).

Take it from someone who did what you're looking at doing....KEEP LOOKING. You will know when you find one...you won't have to ask us!!!
