I have Autolites, but I don't think it matters all THAT much... that is, unless you're running a serious setup which calls for a better plug.

I have Bosch Plat. +4's and the car def. ran better when i put them in and the old plugs were in nice shape. Now I hear that after a couple thousand miles the Bosch Plat. start to suck, has anyone else heard this?

I've used Bosch and Autolites for years and never had a problem. I buy the standard platinums and found them to be great. Actually there was an article in Consumer Reports a while back on the Bosch +4 plugs and they found them to be a marketing gimmick. Worked fine, but no improvement over the std plats.

Anyways I change mine every 20-25 k just because I'm fussy. Heck they're only $2.50 each.

on american plugs going one number down is colder, from a r44lt to a r43lt would be one step cooler. on jap plugs (ngk) going up 1 number is colder, ie a br8es to a br9es is 1 step cooler.

a cooler plugs has less heat when it fires, the insulator is not as effectiove as a hotter plug allowing some heat from the tip of the plug to be extracted. this is important on a nitrous engine because if the plug was hot the tip would be hat even when the plug is not firing (acting like a glow plug), this could ignite your nitrous/ fuel mixture early and the increased cylinder pressure can easly bend a rod or shatter a piston. it is also improtant as the cylinder temps will be higher and can melt the ground strap of the plug off from the heat.
