Default timing help

ok well i know that the timing of my car is set very ****ty at the moment. i BELIVE it is retarded to far as it is backfiring through the TB and barly idels. the issue i am having is my distributor is turned pretty muc hall the way forward. i think this is cause when it was originally advanced we didant take that little gray plug out so and than later we did????

basicly wha i need to know is. is there any way i can turn my distributr back (so i can advance it laater) without retarding my timing?

What's going on w/ the car and why are you playing w/ the timing?

i guess i duno how else to say it (been up almost a solid 40 hours straight now so that may be why) basicly my distributor is "advanced" as far as it will go (timing is not near high enough though) and i need to turn my distrib back without retarding the timing
