Make sure your clutch isnt slipping. That would make it do about what you described. I lost to a totally 100% stock 95GT once because my clutch was slipping when i got on it hard and i never payed attention till i smelled it one day.

Well he said the clutch was new but that'd be my second guess too.

Seems like thats what it would be doesnt it?

Maybe its adjusted wrong, pressure plate isnt ever fully engaged. That would cause it to slip

It doesn't feel like the clutch is slipping. Although I have smelled it a time or two. I'll look into the adjustment. Thanks for the ideas.

Check your ignition timing. If it is not advancing, it will fall on its face. With 4.10's, you should be able to roast the tires through third gear.

I'm starting to think that nothing is wrong with the car. I believe that the TFS cam is actually slowing me down, considering I'm still running stock heads and intake. Does that make sence? Any suggestions on which intake manifolds, throttle body, and head setup I should go with? Anybody here running the BBK SSI manifolds?

perhaps it is the cam but I think it is something a little easier than replacing all that. like timing. Give it a good tune up with plugs tps o2 sensor ips wires, get a chip on the eec and then re race that sum bit.

i dont think it would decrease power. if your having trouble breaking loose with 4.10s, there is something seriously wrong.

+1 on timing. Although it could be that you have a mismatched setup, I tend to think that your timing is super low. When mine was set at 6 degrees, I could lay on the gas pretty hard in first, and not spin all that much. When I dialed the base timing to 14*, first gear became practically useless...even when I had stock gears.
