Default ranger transmission in mustang

Does anyone know what year(s) will the ranger 5 spds bolt up to an 89 GT auto. I already know what parts I need other than the tranny.

Default RE: ranger transmission in mustang

I think any ford five speed from an older mustang, ranger, and other rear wheel drive vehicles all have the same bolt patterns for the bellhousing to the engine, if thats what your asking. Not sure, but I didn't think any from a ranger would fit though, since in 5-speed rangers, well atleast mine, I think the bellhousing and tranny are one piece and the length might be different, but not sure. Either way, maybe unless it's out of a 4.0, I dont see a ranger tranny holding up long behind a five-oh, and you'll be doin lots of shifting since the truck tranny is geared much lower. Not positive, but i'd do some research.
