Default Wallmart for an oil change? What oil works best

I have a 94 mustang with 99,000 miles on it. The previous owner has been getting it changed at firestone for the past 50,000 miles I believe they use Kendal oil. Wallmart seems cheaper, they let you choose the oil and its more convient for me to go there. Where should I go and what oil should I use for best performance and longjevity? I dont want to pay extra for the synethic or what ever it is. Thanks

All you need is a 16mm wrench for the 2 drain bolts, a filter, and 5 quarts of oil ( I use 5w30 non synthetic) Do it yourself and save time and money.

All certified oils will be just fine. What's more important is how often you change your oil. Even w/non-synthetics, if you change your oil every 3-5k miles, you should have no problem getting at least 200k miles w/no oil leaks. Providing you're chaging all the other fluids as well. I wouldn't take my car to Walmart. Do it yourself, even my wife can change the oil in her car. Though, I'm still the one who has to do it.

^ never heard of filling the filter up with oil when changing oil, why is this? to prevent dry start? [&:]

and yea do yourself a favor and buy a civic, change your own oil, it takes 30 minutes and i think its fun! (time includes beers)

I oil up the o ring on my filter but have never put oil in the filter before mounting it, sounds like a mess waiting to happen.

Like these guys have said, I would buy the oil, filter, etc. from Wal-mart, but I would change it yourself. I wouldn't even let a Wal-mart employee open the freakin door to my Stang.
