Goal of 450 RWHP
I Really Really Cant decide on what the hell I'm going to do...
At first I wanted to go with a Turbo, that idea got trampled over when I heard I needed to changed the headers and exhaust to a Y pipe.
And seeing how much of a bitch it was to get Long Tubes in I said **** that...
Next idea was to go with some form of Supercharger, but then I thought if I could make that much power N/A That would be great. Just having a very beefy N/A engine.
Then I thought of a stroker kit to help me achieve the goals I want, but I hear bad things about 347 strokers.
Now with my Goal of 450RWHP I know I need some form of FI.
So here are my options.
Also if I decided to stay with the 302, and ADD some form of FI.
And got the AFR 165 Heads, would they be too restrictive?
Also, what type of Supercharger is best? I'm mainly looking for a powerband of 1500-6500
What are the ranges on the following?
Centrifugal(spelling?)
Roots
Twin Roots(that even one? I know its twin something)

RE: Goal of 450 RWHP
with those choices bro, id do the 331 stroker w/ a supercharger. get like a Vortech or a Procharger and hook that mother up !!!! as long as the bottom end is built for it, itll run like a scalded dog !!!!! especially with heads, rockers, forged pistons, etc, etc.....thats my .02 cents on the subject. good luck though. let us know what u decide.....or is it gonna be a while til u get to do it ???

It's going to be an over-winter project, but I wanna get it planned out ahead of time.
But if i Decide on sticking with a 302 then I could get the AFR 165's now and get a SC later, which I'm sorta leaning for just so I can have another go fast part very soon

Yeah AFR heads are really good. If you don't have to worry about emissions, you can hit 450 at the wheels easy. Maybe you should think about a single plane intake though, which would raise your power band up to about 2,500-7,000, but you'd make a lot more power up top. It would still be streetable. A blower will typically add about 40-45% horsepower to your car, so doing the math, if you can get 325 to the wheels N/A, a blower should take care of the rest. Plan on a 331 stroker, because they seem to be reliable enough, with forged dished pistons (7:0 or 7:5 to 1) so you can cram more boost in there, a hot cam, high flowing ported and matched heads, high ratio rockers, a good ignition and a free flowing exhaust, and a blower. You can get your 5.0 to that level easy. I wouldn't go any more than that though, because 5.0 blocks have a nasty habit of cracking with too much oomph, unless of course you get a Dart block or similar.
