so if you hold the key in the crank position, it will keep running, but it stops as soon as you let go, correct?

AHave you tried to give it a little throttle when you start it? My 80 turbo had that problem, would just die with the idle, when it was given gas the car would stay turned over. A little adjustment of the distributor and it runs fine now. If 88's plan dont work may want to try that if the timing is off.

I'm thinking either ignition relay (not your starter relay)??? I'm not sure...that's not my area of expertise (yet).

I agree w/ Old_Smokey, I had a 86 Bronco w/ a 5.0 that I had that same problem w/ but once I adjusted the distributor it fired right up. And I'm sure that if it was a fuel delivery problem that if you kept trying to start it that eventually it wouldn't start at all. You may also want to check your switch it may have been installed wrong, especially if you didn't have that problem prior to the new switch. Just a thought though.

I think I found the problem. I am losing power to my EMC unit which in turn isn't pulsing the fuel injectors. Anyone know why this would be happening and where I should look next?
