Since i got the car(95 mustang gt) my speedometer hasnt worked and its gotten me into trouble a few times, i dont know even where to start fixing them, the guy who had it before put white glow(cover) guages and i took it off and they still dont work. Any help would be good cuz im lost

 

Is it just the speedometer or is the odometer broken as well?

they dont work at all and i havent opened them up yet cuz i wouldnt know what to look for

As far as your problem... I'm wondering if it's your speedo gear in the tranny. Especially if there's a chance someone screwed around with the gears in the rear end before you had the car. Of course, you would ahve to feel comfortable opening up the back of the tranny to gain access to it, but it's not too hard or anything.

take it and have someone look at it. does the fuel gauge work? it could be just the cluster is bad
