if you blew a headgasket...your temp will be on the high side....when i blew mine temp went to the moon.and the smoke will hover in the sky...i ended up warping my heads a little...

any bubbles in rad? is it oil filmed?....i think a ring broke.

how much would you say a good porting job on both intake and heads be?

i've heard from many places that porting stock heads isn't worth it and just to buy new ones

wouldn't that cause the temp to go up too?

and how come it would all of a sudden be bad... i drove home after doing the burn out which is like 15 miles away and it was fine... but when i cranked it in the morn it ran like ****

a broken ring wouldnt cause a temp increase. but it will cause oil to pass the ring and foul a spark plug. if its bad enough it will cause a miss. take out all your plugs. if one is carbon or oil fouled its a ring or head problem. if its clean and looks nearly new then theres coolant getting in the combustion chamber. you can also compression test your engine and that will tell you a lot too.

as for porting the heads, there are people on this forum running stock heads and going 10s and below. stock heads kinda suck, yes, but porting them will help out quite a bit.
