How much they want for it?
I can't be really crazy about anything with a '65 289 unless it's a '65....

go for it man.. the 289 is a really great motor in my opinion. i had a 66 mustang coupe with a 289 and i could not kill that motor. it ould just run and run and run. that car was awsme.. all i did was threw on some headers and a full exhaust. 500cfm 4 barrel and a edlebrock intake and that car was quick. sure it wasnt the fastest around but it was still pretty quick for my first car... anyways.. thats just my opinion. i would say go for it. sounds like a nice platform to start with.
