K+N Air filter

Whats the proper way to clean them? Do they really last the life of your car as long as you keep them clean? How often should they be cleaned?

i clean mine every oil change, get the k&n cleaning kit there like 11$ and follow the directions!

there's a cleaning solution that just strips every bit of crap out of the filter, then you rinse it, let it air dry, and apply a LIGHT coat of the K&N filter oil, and then tadaaa, you've got a brand new filter.
