Default removing emblems/ applying new ones

the lx emblem came off my hatch. There is all this residue left and i was wondering what is the best way to get this stuff off? and how should i go about applying the new one? i ordered it already but it didnt say if it had an adheasive back or anything like that. and how do you get emblems off that are still on there good. Id like to replace the 5.0 emblems on the side too. thanks

Well as far as moving the adhesive, I'd use some alcohol or ammonia to remove it. Whatever you do, do not I repeat do not attempt to scrape it off w/ a sharp object or you will scratch the hell out of your paint job(been there tried that). And as far as removing the other emblems, I would use something to pry it off and then use the same technique on the adhesive, I have always stuck a paint scraper or screw driver behind mine and pryed them off, but these may have rivets so be careful.

Goo-Gone

u can get it at any retail store

wash the area with soap and water after and it will peel right off without leaving residue

Alcohol works well
The cleaning kind, not the drinking kind [&:]

Off topic -
I pulled my 5.0 badges last summer, because the motor is now a 408w. Turns out the previous owner had the factory emblems removed for paint, but they didn't remove all the adhesive residue before applying the new paint.
What a nightmare to clean up.

Ok since i just did this like 3 weeks ago b/c i painted my car.
1. take spray bottle of water and spray it down to make it throughly wet.
2. get like a paint scraper / credit car and slid it under.
3. After you get the emblem off.. go to the store and get a tool that attaches to a air line it looks likes big eraser hook it up to the qir chuck.
4 then get wax and grease remover and wipe it down.
5. to reapply get double sided sticky tape

when i took mine off to replace them...(5.0L emblems) ...i just got some weed-eater string..and used it like dental floss and went behind the emblems..didnt hurt the paint or anything....then just used a rag and some wax to clean the sticky stuff that was left off.
