Thats not true. The earlier lights witht he vertical bars will not fit. 79-82 or 83 will not fit all foxes. Other the other years are interchangable though.
EDIT: If you did want those ugly (IMO) lights from the early foxes they will fit but you have to mod the taillight panel. and vise-versa for the later tails.

Well, I called my local salvage yard and they told me they had a set of taillights off an 83-86 Mustang but they weren't specific which year they were. So I go up there and wait about half an hour for the guy to bring them to me only to find out they had been busted out and were no good [:@]. Oh well
