Default Fuel issues

First off I bought an 85 hatch w/ 92 front end and Engine, well I drove around for a few days (2) then the fuel pump died, ok no big deal right? wrong. Not only did the pump die but there was also no power going to the pump. Checked the Relay, it's fine power there in and out. so I checked the Inershia switch, fine also power in and out. So I finaly decide to re-run the power to the pump I hooked power to the wire out from the inershia switch and grounded it to the body. Car ran great until about 10 mins in then felt like I had no fuel, and it wouldn't let me over 1/2 throttle, Shut off the engine, turned it right back on and it let me drive for about 5mins I did this 4-5 times to get it home again. I'm thinking it's because there isn't enough voltage from the power wire I chose. tomorrow I'm going to run a wire strait from the batt. to a switch on the dash and then to the pump. anyway I wanted to know if anyone else had an opinion on what's happening?

Well Today I ran new wire from the pump to the battery and a switch in the dash and grounded directly to the battery in the trunk. Same thing 5mins then can't go above 1/2 throttle then eventually won't let me accel in gear. Revs fine out of gear, while it does this the check engine light is on, shut the car off Light goes away and so does problem. 5 mins l8r same thing. I took it to autozone to scan the code and I knew that if I shut it off the light goes out so I left it running till it was time to scan it then I just killed the fuel pump and wouldn't U know as soon as the car dies the light goes off. this thing is killing me anyone else have anymore ideas?

Well I just went out and got the codes myself it gives me

67- Neutral Safety Switch (Would explain the fact that I don't need to press the clutch to start)

72- Power interruption detected or Message Center Control Assembly circuit failed.
Insufficient MAF/MAP change during Dynamic Response Test (user error).

81- Air management 2 circuit failure (AM2/TAD).
MAP sensor vacuum was not greater than 2 in-Hg (7 kPa) during normal vehicle operation.

83- EGR Control solenoid circuit failure (egr isn't hooked up)
High speed electro-drive fan circuit failure.
Low speed fuel pump relay circuit open.

85- Canister Purge Solenoid circuit failure (possibly the problem?)

95- Fuel pump secondary circuit failure. The EEC senses infinite resistance to ground from the fuel pump on the Fuel Pump Monitor circuit. (mayB because the way I hooked up the fuel pump?)

either a ground or computer issue, check the ground from the main wire harness to the rear of the block that may be the culprit.

Well I just went out and checked the canister and well it's not there could this be part of my problem? when it happens the fuel pump doesnt' shut off I can still hear it running fast when it happens if I shut the pump off for 1 second and right back on the problem is gone. I'm going to have a fuel pressure tester in a few hours my buddy's bringing it home from work. but I'd like to have an idea of whut's going on sooner then that cuz it's making me nuts.

also the battery will not hold a charge but it hasn't since I bought the car and it ran fine like that for 2-3 days so I don't think this is the problem.

My 90 model is acting in a very similiar fashion. I will be running in gear at any speed and every minute or so, the rpm drops like the car has been cut off, but no drop in voltage or oil pressure. It will not do it in neutral. Let me know what you find, so that I might be able to diagnois mine.

ok well I've put a new battery in and now it takes longer for the problem to happen but it's still there. at least w/ the pump switch in the dash I can fix it while I'm driving.
