Default yet another problem

i have another probelem..i searched and couldnt really find anything that related to this. my car will backfire out of the intake when u give it some gas...i was told it has something to do with the intake valves and a good friends dad (who owns a very repectable shop) said maybe the egr valve of fuel pressure regulator was either leaning it out or making it too ruch or something like that.. does any of this sound right? im thinking its a bigger problem. it wasnt doing it before and it just all of a sudden started happening. i thought maybe timing? i think im in way over my head.

Check the fuel pressure. You shouldn't need starting fluid obviously!
