definatly 4.10's don't waste your time and money on 3.73's, because you will eventually switch to 4.10's anyways...

If you have an automatic you already have 3.53's I think or close to it.

my aod had 2.73's.......and your thinking of 3.55's
as far as i know, 3.27 is the lowest gear they came with stock
Ive heard all kinds of stories surrounding this subject and dont know what to believe. Ive heard stories of 3.55, and 3.90 options on AOD's when people bought them new but dont know how true any of it is. From my understanding AOD came fro the factory with a higher gear ratio or visa versa. I guess the best way for him to find out is to look at his door or diferential tag, and go from there.

Normally I would say 3.73s - I just recenltly put them in mine, and I love them. But then again, I have a manual & started with 2.73s. For an auto, I really would do 4.10s. If you plan on building this car, I would recommend going out and buying a beater or something that gets good gas mileage.

foxes only came with 2 gears from ford 2.73's were standard regarless of transmission. 3.08's were optional. the 1993 cobra r came with 3.23's standard, the regualr 1993 cobra came with 3.08's standard. there were no optional gears higher installed from ford.

dont go with 4.10's. yes they rock but as a daily driver im assuming you would like your speedometer to be correct. if you have a 1990+ speedo gear you will need to change a few things inorder for it to be correct. 3.55's is the limit without changing the internal gear in the tailshaft (23 tooth). if you have a 84-89 model you could go with 4.10's and use a 23 tooth gear for correct reading.

I have 4.10's right now and I plan on buying a blower soon. What's wrong with keeping the 4.10's in there?
