transmissions
i have sn95 and over the past winter i put a dss 331 shortblock with a trick flow upper intake and i just got it dyno tunned and i had it back for one day and i pushed the stock trans a little to far. its coming up the winter now and i need to get a trans and do the susspension up, i cant decide what trans i should go with i have been looking in to a g force or tremic either the dog ring kit with the g force or a tko 600 if anyone has either of these feed back would be awesome
I would have to say definetly go with the tko, dont have one myself but am getting one next spring when i pull the car out of storage, driven my friend's with one and its awesome. http://home.earthlink.net/~bluestang/
I have a 3550. Several of my buddies run the tko500 in their chevelles. Granted the 600 has slightly different gear ratios and I have never one myself, I would still recommend any tremec. It shifts wonderfully but makes a good ammount of noise. Beef is noisy though. Tough as nails worth every penny.
how much money do you have to spend on a tranny? a stock t-56 will handle the same torque as a tko, but has better ratios cuz of the 6th gear. check out www.gforcetransmissions.com if you want to send your stock unit in for a rebuild with bullet proof internals. id go with the t-56 tho just to have a 331 with a 6 speed :-)
