Painting Trim and Bezels

Painting Trim and Bezels
I have attached some pictures of the rear and front window trim. As you can see the previous owner must have spray painted the chrome trim black, so now that a few rocks have hit it, the damn things look like a spotted cow! Any recommendations on removing and painting these things. I'm not sure if I want to go back to chrome, or Gloss black.
Also, I attached a pic of the back bezel. Since it is plastic and looks like once it is installed, it can not be removed unless you break it off. One of them is already breaking away. I may need new ones. But does anyone know the best way to remove them, and also how to paint plastic like that?
Thanks for any help.

That's not a big deal. Just get some really fine sandpaper and sand them down to get the pits out of them (for the plastic trim on the quarter windows), then tape it off and spray it up with some Duplicolor semi-gloss black from Advance or whatever. I did that to my car, and it looks great. Just make sure you do a good job taping, lol, overspray is a bitch. Throw a couple coats on and it'll look like new. It took me like 3 hours to do both sides on my '89...between taping and actually spraying, but that was just for the quarter windows. You can do the same thing with that trim in the back though.
Edit - also, yeah, it comes black from the factory. The paint's starting to come off of the trim around my rear window also...gonna have to spray it up soon.

I would like to be able to take the trim peices off if I can in order to sand and paint them. Is this possible without destroying them, and will I be able to put them back on?

I don't know, I didnt' try taking them off. I wouldn't bother sanding the back window trim...nobody is really going to be eyeballing it anyway. It will look good with a couple of coats on it. I would just leave them on, cause I don't know how easy it is to get it back together. As far as the quarter window trim...I don't think that comes off. Then again, like I said, I didn't try.

Hmm...Well I don't have any pics...I just used masking tape, a shiatload of newspaper, and a razor knife. Tape the glass first...Just tape everything off, and run the razor along the inside of the trim to cut back any tape that's sticking over. Do the same on the outside...Just make sure the knife is on the trim and not the paint or the glass, lol.
