Default next mods...need opinions

ive got an '86 gt vert and idk what i should do. i know ill do a CAI but i cant decide if i should do a catted or offroad h-pipe. i cant get anyone to lend me a hand inspecting it so idk. 5 years until i caqn get away with it so i thought maybe i could just do the swap every 2 years for the inspection. ideas? how hard is it to swap a midpipe? my mods are in my sig

I swap mine every 2 years. Been doin it since 94 when I bought the car. However, I'm an auto tech and using a lift is not a problem. On your back w/ jackstands lengthens the procedure but still worth it imo!!! Go catless!!! You'll be happy you did.

im glad to know im not insane for suggesting that mine looks like its welded on there. could i just sawzall it off and use exhaust clamps?

hmmm... definitely welded on there [&:] they look like theyre about to rust through anyways..... so how can i manage a swap if its welded to the cat back?

+1 to that! I would recommend BBK shorty headers if you plan to keep it under 350 HP, but long tubes if 350+ HP. On the midpipe, I'd go with the off road Prochamber - incredible sound, and the best performance gains on midpipes

Definitely do a CAI as well. Looks like you're already working on the suspension... but I would do some MM upper/lower control arms, too.

It depends. If ur laz, go catted. If ur willing to replace it every 2 years go Off-Road. Off-Road is worth it in my opinion. Better Sound, Better performance...

Ahhh, don't worry about it. My dad was the same way. He was never into cars either and that made it hard for me when I was a kid. My kids won't have that problem cuz my wife is into cars as well.
