DR Size for 15" Rim

DR Size for 15" Rim
If I get my insurance check, I'm gonna go for traction crap.
Like Upper/Lower Control Arms
Mickey Thompson ET Streets
some spare 15" Rims
What kind of tire would fit in the back of my stang?
I'm not too acustomed to the way its sized unless its in millimeters
So what does a 245 tire translate into for most drag radials/slicks?
Welp just asking for the tire size that would be equivilant to a 245/45/17 but on a 15x8" rim
because im not changing the front tires, theyre staying 245/45/17's
For now anyways.

RE: DR Size for 15" Rim
If it is a DR the sizing will be the same as a normal tire. ET Streets are sized be the diameter (eg 26.0) and the width (eg 9.5). Measure your tires you have now and find an ET Street with a similar siz, that way your speedometer won't be far off. I would bet that a 26x10.5x15 would be really close, it has an 8 inch tread width. As a side not true slicks (non DOT) are measured at a different place on the tire and will be wider in any givin size.

DOT tires are measured at the widest point, not necessarily at the tread. So a 245 might only be 8" wide on the ground as well, instead of the mathmatical 9.6" wide that the metric converts to, but they usually give you the tread width as well as the tire width. That's why for any given size you can have an inch or more in difference in tread width between brands, or even just between tire model. Dunlops tend to run wide, bridgestones a little on the narrower iirc.
245/45r17 is closest to a 26x9.5x15, but like he said the ten inch slick would probably work just fine.

RE: DR Size for 15" Rim
Don't really want to risk that tho, the quad shock in the fox's prohibits any tire larger than 245...
Maybe a 255 but thats pushin it, because I had to bang on the quad a tiny bit to get 245's to fit.
ok So I'll just try for a
26x9.5x15 Mickey Thompson ET Street when I get the CashFlow!(Hopefully soon from insurance)
Edit: Thanks
