Door Panels
Hey all, I have a 95 GT convertible and we absolutely love it. Over the last couple of months though, we have had 3 of the 4 windows stop working on us. You can hear the window motor on all 3 of them but the window does not move up or down. If you push it down when pushing the switch it goes and when you push it up you have to manually grab the window and pull it up. The question is, how do I get the door panel off to see whats wrong and if its something I can fix my self? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am anxious to get them fixed. Thanks.

RE: Door Panels
sounds like your motors are going, its easy to go down but more of a struggle to go up, thats what my rear window did b4 crapping out on me. Went slower and slower going up until even when i grabbed it i couldnt pull it up. Not sure how you guys with sn95 models get at it....

RE: Door Panels
Yeah, sad to say I know how. Haha. Have done it a few times, passenger window is hard headed, but I don't think its the motor, think its in the switch or the wiring. But anyway, thats my problem.
You have to pop the cover behind the door handle off, then pull the whole plastic armrest off (it just pops out also), behind that there will be (2) screws that you need to take out. The plastic cover on the inside of the side view mirror has to come off, along with one of those push pins things (I can't ever remember what they are called), it will be at the front (by the hinges) of the door on the bottom. Just pry it out with a screwdriver is what I do. That should be it if I am not forgetting anything. Just pull up on the panel and it should come right off. As far as the window motor, good luck, not much room to get to it. Hope I helped some.

The motor bushings are shot. In the motors there is 3 nylon bushings that eventually braek. Just call your local dealership and see if they carry them. If they dont you can get them from 50 Resto. They are about $7 for a set of 3. You might want to change all of them out while your at it.
