Default Dim Lights

Well, yesterday I finally got a chance to drive my car (its been raining like crazy in NJ) and for some reason the light were really dim... I could barely see my gauges and I could not see the letters/numbers on my shifter (automatic). The car is all stock besides whats listed below and I dont have the manifold installed yet. Last time I drove the car it was fine, I did nothing to it since than.... any ideas?

Also, Im not having any charging issues.... the gauge is reading one line above half way (where it always is).

Did you check the dimmer switch to make sure it wasn't turned down?

I's almost positive they all have dimmer switches, have you checked the output on the alternator? is it below 11-12volts it may be barely recharging your battery enough to run the accessories but may die soo, go to autozone and they can load test it for ya

Well, if I had a dimmer switch I havent seen it yet lol

Also, my gauge is reading over a line above halfway so charging is not an issue. And it was fine last week when I drove it.

i have a '90 i dont think the dash is different but, the switch is one that rolls side to side on the left of the steering wheel twards the bottom of the dash, hope that helps otherwise the fuse is a 5amp that may have went or is going out

+1 on the dimmer switch. But if thats not it, it's probably time to swap to the 3G alternator. There is an excellent tech sticky about how to do it at the top of the 5.0 section.

Im pretty sure it has nothing to do with the alternator because Im reading above the middle line on the gauge and the alternator is brand new. I would like to upgrade but funds are REAAAAAAALLY low right now. I just got into an accident the on Friday
