Brakelines
The hard line that goes from somewhere up front to the rear end on my 83 mustang has a leak about 18 inches forward of the rear end. I really dont want to replace the entire line. I was wondering if I could cut it off before the leak and replace like 2 feet of line, instead of the entire system. But I would need a piece to connect the 2 lines...and I would need to flange the end of the line I cut.
Do they make something like that because it would be much easier to do it that way.

Yea, Ive got a bender, and my friend has a flaring tool. I can get the line, but the piece that connects them? Will I be able to find this at any old auto parts store?

I really dont want to replace the whole thing, because its like 10 feet long with a ton of bends. If It was my DD, I would do the entire system, but I dont even know If Ill ever register the thing, so I dont want to put too much time into it.

No NO NO
take it to your local brake shop, thats a $ 60- 90 repair. This can turn into a nightmare if you tackle it.
Flaring has some skill involved, I dont recommend those compression fittings.
Flaring tools, brake line, fluid and error, youll be at $50 and maybe some more issues, just let the shop do it.

If you do replace the lines you don't have to do all the bends yourself. Mustangsunlimited.com sells kits.
