Default Should my stock fan spin all the time?

Just wondering because mine does. At least, it does when the car is stone cold, and it does when the car is hot. If it is supposed to spin all the time, then what is the clutch for?

is the clutch there to keep the fan rotating at the same speed when the motors rpm's fluctuate?

i didnt know there was a clutch on the fan. but if there is probably for higher rpms it will slip so there is less stress on motor? im just guessing though...

mine also spins all the time, i get huge dust clouds when i rev it in my driveway (dirt.. duh) makes it pointless to wax my sexy beast [&o]

Stock fan with the clutch will spin all the time.... It spins slower when it's cold, faster when it's hot... You won't be able to tell just by looking at it though...

but you have no idea how much fun it is to make the neighbors kids jump when you rev it its a priceless moment!

plus my driveway isnt flat. so i have to climb a hill half way through, you cant get up it w/o a little rev !

Thanks for all the replies fellas. I guess mine is normal then. Mine also kicks up dust in my garage onto my freshly waxed paint. Depending on what mood I'm in, it's sometimes irritating.
