Gear Drive question for a 92 5.0
I have an edelbrock gear drive on my '65 and I love the whine. I want to run the same setup on my 92 5.0 project. I searched through some of the previous posts on gear drives in the 87-93 fox bodies, but there wasn't a clear answer on whether or not running a gear drive will trip the knock sensor and/or retard the timing.
My question is will running a gear drive effect the timing/driveability or trip my CE light for any reason?

Theres no knock sensors on 92's so you won't have a problem. I don't see why it would cause a problem. Its just a timing set without a chain, I think you will have to grind the timing cover a bit with a dremel. I know you have to when you use a pete jackson (think thats the name).

ya theres like an 1" tab on the inside of the timing cover, I had to grind it off when I did the edelbrock drive on my 65...not a problem. Thanks for clearing up the issue on the knock sensor
