I need some advice...My Powerdyne recently stopped working so it is being sent out for a rebuild..the motor was burning oil since I bought the car and the oil pressure sucks so I am either building a 347 Stroker with forged pistons or buying a crate motor.

My buddy wants me to get the new 345 horse 302 motor from Ford Racing with the aluminum heads.

That motor has cast pistons or the Hyper ones that are in all Fords from 93 up I guess. I have heard 9lbs of boost is too much for these pistons and then I have heard they are ok up to like 500 horse.


Any thoughts

Get a forged 347 short block form CHP and buy the AFR 185 heads.....you will spend less money and have a better set up......then the crate motor...that is what I am going to do......

I have the 6 psi Powerdyne.....what happened to yours and was it under warranty?

The belt inside snapped I guess...no idea how old it is...I called Powerdyne and they said it was probably like 5 years old. I just bought the car about a month ago...drove it like 6 times and that was it.

I agree the 347 is probably the way to go...

The crate motor is great....but a forged 347......is a FORGED 347......catch my drift?

That sucks about the blower dude.........I just got mine......if mine breaks then I take it back to them.....Powerdynes are made 45 minutes from my house.......

Just got off the phone with CHP..think I will do the Street Fighter 347 kit with the Blower Pistons 8:5 to 1 compression. and the Ford F303 Cam with either the AFR or GT40X heads..will decide that over the next month or so.

Go with the AFR 185 heads...and how much is it going to run you?

347 Kit is on sale for $900 and that comes with the crank, rods, pistons rings, bearings etc...

Just have to decide if I am going with 8:5 to 1 or 9:1 compression.

9-10psi is the most I will run

Why only run 9-10 psi if you've got a fully forged motor made to handle 15+?
